Pakistan Shaheens lost the final of the Top End T20 Series on Sunday against the Northern Territory Strike in Darwin.
Chasing a target of 186 runs, the Shaheens were restricted to 139-7 in 20 overs. NT Strike won the match by 46 runs.
Jack Wood scored a sensational hundred, 101 in 59 balls with the help of eight fours and five sixes, to help the winning team post 185-4 while batting first.
Chasing the stiff target, the Shaheens kept losing wickets at regular intervals and never had a realistic chance of winning the match.
Arafat Minhas top-scored with 41 runs, meanwhile, Irfan Khan and Shamyl Hussain contributed 24 and 23 runs, respectively.
Brodie Symons bagged impressive figures of 3-16 in three overs for NT Strike.
Earlier, Shahwaiz Irfan’s second consecutive half-century and a four-wicket haul from Ali Asfand led Shaheens to an eight-wicket victory over Papua New Guinea at the DXC Arena on Friday evening. The win helped Shaheens qualify for the final.
Pakistan team registered four wins and suffered two losses during the series.
Shaheens will also play two 50-over matches against PNG and NT Strike on August 8 and 9, respectively.
